Highest Quality Audio
The AJHD 3700 has 8 discreet audio channels (allowing you to use 6 for 5.1 surround sound, plus 2 stereo for LT/RT) and record/play/edit in all formats. Sampling at 48KHz provides for 24-bit in 8-channels and 20-bit in 4-channels.
Compatible with Multiple HD and SD Resolutions/Framerates
Now it's possible to have the popular hi def formats 1080i, 1080/24p, 1080/24PsF, and 720p all on the same deck - plus standard definition non-compressed 525i (NTSC) and 625i (PAL). Down conversion to standard definition can take place right in the AJHD-3700, with a colorimetry conversion function which corrects color gamut differences resulting from HD / SD conversion.
The AJHD 3700 has the ability to convert from 24 frames to 30 frames progressive time code, as well as the ability to display the original 25 frame time code output when playing back footage in 24 frame mode. The multiple frame rates means mastering in one format and outputting in another. Conversion of frame rates, audio, and time code are easily handled inside the machine and are always in time regardless of the format conversion.

The HDW F500 is a High Definition VTR which plays and records in HD Cam format. This deck offers full resolution (1920 x 1080) and 4:2:2 digital 10-bit component video utilizing HD Cam compression.
Handles Multiple Frame Rates
The switchable frame rate allows playbacks and recordings to be made at 23.98, 24, 25, 29.97 and 30 frames per second progressive, and 50, 59.94 or 60 fields per second interlace.
Audio
Audio capabilities include (4) 20-bit channels, capable of handling Dolby "E" encoded audio tracks. Also included is HD SDI (with 4 channels of embedded audio) and AES/EBU audio interfaces.
Additional Bonuses
Using 24P with HD Cam stock has become especially popular due to its increased recording time: a typical HDCAM cassette holds 124 minutes of 60 Hz HD material, but can hold 155 minutes of 24P HD material - a 25% increase. The F500, which utilizes the HD Cam format and supports playback and recording in 24P mode, allows users to take advantage of this added benefit.
An optional 525 down-converter board can also be included with the HDW F500, which outputs both standard definition digital and analog signals (525 and 625 modes).

High Def Recording and Multiple DV Playback options
In addition to playing and recording DVC PRO HD (high definition), the AJ-HD 1200A also plays back the standard definition formats of DVC PRO 50, DVC PRO, DVCAM, and Mini DV*. This wide range of playback options, combined with its ability to record in DVC PRO HD, makes the deck a versatile player and VTR.

The AJ-HD 1200A comes with 8 channels of Audio, featuring 48 kHz, 16-bit sound.
Other Perks
Like Panasonic's AJHD 3700, down conversion from high definition to standard definition can take place right inside the deck.
The AJ-HD 1200A's light weight and D.C. powering enables it to operate as an in-field High Def editor and viewer. The deck's Firewire Interface makes it ideal for use with Apple's Final Cut Pro HD editing system.
